Today’s session: Techniques for Coping with Stress

Three simple techniques in coping with stressful moments when a loved one is sick or during an emergency.
1- rub your tongue to the roof of your mouth – the palate
2- make a fist then open your hand. make a fist and open. do this a few times – this will ease your sweaty palms and nervousness, plus sending a message to your body and brain that ‘you can handle this’.
3- place your hand on your heart and/or chest and gently tap (as if tapping on a child’s back)…slowing your heartbeat to a calmer beat.
Lastly, trust that all will be well. Keep the faith and focus on being present.
