After suffering from 2 surgeries for her ovarian cysts, she has dedicated her life and practice to helping women be more accepting and in tuned with their body. Alice Petrossian

Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) President Alice Petrossian has received a prestigious 2012 Ellis Island Medal of Honor – recognizing remarkable Americans who exemplify outstanding qualities in both their personal and professional lives, while continuing to preserve the richness of their particular heritage.  A true role model working to improving the lives of students, her focus on diversity and educational equity, and her support for English language from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Petrossian is the chair of the ANCA Western Region Education Committee, which works to promote understanding regarding issues of concern to the Armenian American community across nine states.

Col. Nancy Sumner

Retired California Air National Guard colonel whose career spans from serving military operations in the Middle East to aiding veterans back home.  Veteran of the Year – Col. Nancy Sumner was singled out by Assemblyman Mike Gatto to receive the honor for the 43rd District.  Completed over 31 years of successful management and leadership experience with a reputation for meeting the most challenging organizational goals and objectives. Combined her military service with her civilian role as Registered Nurse at Glendale Memorial Hospital, Disaster Coordinator, and Critical Care Transport Nurse with Schaefer Ambulance, Board Member of Red Cross and YWCA Glendale.

Mary Lou Sandler

Mary Lou Sandler is a producer/director/photographer/cinematographer & co-owner of 3 cubed studios, LLC… awarded “Best Small Business of the Year 2015” by the United Chambers of Commerce. She is also the founder of FemaleFilmmakers.org. Once a working actress & fitness cover model, her mission now is to inspire & empower women to heal thru the arts. She is working with several charitable organizations including being a committee member of the domestic violence and human trafficking charity FaceForwardLA.org. Her award winning short film “Welcome to Where You’ve Always Been” is currently in the festival circuit. She is also working on her 2nd photography book for charity (a female body image & empowerment project) as well as the cinematographer and co-producer on an all female short documentary “The Empty Womb” directed by Betsy Chasse.

Drum Circle: Summer Lall

Summer Lall, MT-BC, is a Board Certified Music Therapist and obtained her degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2008, and is the founder of the organization Rhythm & Truth Music Therapy, specifically aimed at empowering youth at-risk. As a Music Therapist, Lall uses a wide variety of music modalities (including a diverse selection of instruments, songs, improvisational techniques, relaxation techniques and creative arts) to establish non-musical goals. Summer is trained in MTACB (Music Therapy Assisted Child Birth) and is continuously expanding her knowledge of the ever changing field of pregnancy and parenting.
